Advent Prayer for Lapsed Catholics
Christmas is a joyful celebration, yet this year, as Catholic families fill churches at midnight Mass eager to welcome the newborn King, many will note with sadness those children, parents, spouses, or siblings who are absent because they have broken with the faith.
Saint John Paul II was a great supporter of the Christian family and a faithful shepherd who sought the return of fallen away Catholics.
This Advent, join the Saint John Paul II Society in praying for the return of fallen-away Catholics. May the solemnities of Christmas open the door for them to return to the God who became man for their salvation.
Prayer to Saint John Paul II for the Return of Lapsed Catholics
Saint John Paul II, as Pope you worked tirelessly for the return of those separated from God and cut off from His Church. Now that you look upon the face of the Lord in heaven, I ask you to intercede for (mention names). May God’s grace bring them back to the practice of the faith and remove all obstacles that prevent them from receiving His abundant mercy, which flows sacramentally through the heart of His holy Church. Through the intercession of Mary, the Mother of God, their guardian angels, their patron saints and through your watchful intercession, Saint John Paul II, may they receive pardon from their sins and freedom from whatever hinders their return to the arms of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Light a candle for each of your loved ones who have fallen away from the faith.
Make an offering to support the record number of young men laying down their lives to seek the lost as Dominican Friars.
